This is on of the last pictures that i took on our new years eve stay in the in Bass Lake to end out 2009. I’ve got an awesome engagement shoot planned tomorrow with Talia and Ryan and should be knee deep in snow about this time tomorrow… can’t wait!
shake it like a polaroid picture!
I got this new app for the iPhone called ShakeItPhoto, love it, and had to share with all the iPhone users out there! It’s effect it killer, really simple interface, and only $0.99 in the app store. There are a few tweaks that could put it up higher on my list but the price is right so no complaints here. Thank’s DJ for introducing me to the awesomeness! Here’s a few pictures taken using the app…
First shot ever taken with ShakeItPhoto!
Got this one by shaking the phone while taking the pic :)
The sky was an awesome deep blue that night, couldn’t help but take a pic!
…and since 2010 is just around the corner I thought I would quote some goal setting tips from the man himself Dave Ramsey to help make YOUR goals become reality:
- Be specific. When setting goals, be specific in what you want to achieve. Vagueness will only cause you to feel overwhelmed, and you will just give up.
- Make your goals measureable. In order to know if you achieved the goal, it must be measurable. For example, if you want to lose weight, don’t simply write down “lose weight” as a goal. How much weight do you want to lose? Or don’t just write “spend more time with family.” How much time do you want to spend with your family every night?
- Are they your goals? Only you can set your own goals. If your spouse, co-worker or friend sets a goal for you, you’re not going to achieve it. Taking ownership will give you more incentive to meet your goal.
- Set a time limit. Setting a time frame will help you set realistic goals. For example, if you want to save more money, list how much money a month you want to put into your savings account.
- Put them in writing. Putting your goals in writing will make you much more likely to achieve them. Write down your goals and review them often. This will give you motivation to make them a reality.
I hope you all have a wonderful New Years and even if you haven’t set those goals for 2010, it’s not too late to get started!
i found my second shooter | nikki : cody
Last Sunday, my brother in law Cody and his wife Nikki had a small reception back home in Fresno with friends and family to celebrate their marriage made official September 18th in Georgia where he is currently stationed in the Army. We took a few minutes before the guests arrived at the reception to get a few simple portraits of them looking all snazzy and dressed up since they don’t have any official wedding photos of the two of them. Congratulation you two, I love you both and wish you all the best!
Here’s nephew Kenton who quickly became my second shooter for the day when he got hold of my old Canon Digital Rebel XT. He totally rocked it and after downloading all the pictures from the camera i have made it official to hire him as a full time second photographer, haha. Plus he is a lot cuter than me and looks awesome in a suit!
Here’s a pic Kenton got of Chele and I in the midst of all our dorkness.
santa clause is comin’ to town
It’s that time of year again and it came even faster than last year! I hope you were a good boy or girl this year and get gifts in all forms imaginable. I was a good boy this year (…for the most part) and can’t wait to see what Santa brings me :) More importantly, i have much more to be thankful for in my life that could never be purchased in the form of money. I thank everyone in my life including you all out there that continues to support me and I wouldnt be where i am without you… THANK YOU!
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
P.S. If you haven’t elfed yourself, you totally should!!
a white dress and december sunset | nicole : nate
It didn’t take long for Nicole and Nate to appear back on the blog after their engagement shoot a few weeks back at Fresno State. They had their wedding at a private residence in outskirts of Clovis, CA last Saturday and it could not have turned out any better. In between foggy days and a recent storm we got plenty of sunshine and an amazing sunset… thank you photo gods! Here’s a few of my favorite images of the day for you to enjoy.
…check out them shoes!

…the gorgeous bridesmaids.

…and studly groomsmen.

The first look images we got before the wedding ceremony were some of my favorite images of the day. What a great location!

The wedding party rocked it!

Here’s one of those amazing winter sunsets we get in Fresno this time of year!

Nothing ends a great wedding better than a little cake in the face!

undeniably in love | nicole : nate
These two are made for each other, period. It’s undeniable they are crazy for each other and I’m sure their wedding coming up in a few weeks will be a blast. I can’t wait!! Not much else to say here except i hope that everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving and is rockin’ the Christmas spirit!

a battle worth fighting | doylene
Some of you may recognize Doylene from a family shoot i did nearly a year ago you can find HERE. Same great smile, just a different look! Diagnosed with breast cancer and half way thru treatment I was honored when she asked me to capture a few pictures of her to help document this moment in her life for the future. Doy has been in our family a lot longer than I have and i have a whole new respect for her strength and courage. When looking through some of these images i was overwhelmed with inspiration, uplifted and I hope that they could help others in doing the same.

My Aunt Mickey and Doy for a last picture to wrap up the post!

next stop, clovis | sara : mike
Another wonderful weather weekend in the central valley and another great e-shoot! Mike had to miss out on the Fresno State football game for this but it turned he didn’t miss much of a game :( oh, well. We had a fun time and made some awesome images, I hope you two enjoy!

i see rain in the forecast | kandace : freddy
You know you have some amazing clients when they ask if you have any ideas for their engagement shoot and i mention something like this… how about we head up to the foothills in 50 degree weather, you both get all dressed up and go makeout in the rain! Their answer… let’s do it! Ahh, they sure know how to get to my heart :)
Well, if you were in Fresno over the weekend both you and I know there wasn’t any type rain scheduled in the forecast so we had to improvise a little and play rain god ourselves with this little thing we call a garden hose. I got some inspiration from a blog post i read awhile back from Atlanta editorial photographer Zack Arias. If your a photographer and you haven’t heard of Zack, you should definately go check out his blog in the near future for some great stuff on life and of course photography.
You may remember these two from a post i did nearly a year ago with their dog Bentley. No dogs on this photo adventure, but we had such a great time capturing these images and i am more than happy to share with you all. Please enjoy.

a shoot on top of the world | tara : ty
I absolutely love my job! I get to meet and hang out with the awesomest people, find cool locations, and push myself to make each shoot unique and creative. This time Ty, Tara, and I headed up to Shaver Lake to start it off, then ended our day at the top of Sierra Summit. I’ve never been there without a snowboard strapped to my feet and it was a much different experience, which makes my think… I cant wait to go boarding this year, i hope it snows a billion times over! Anyways, we had a blast making these images and i cant wait to shoot their wedding next year.
Also, a huge thanks to Andrew Hunter for helping me out for the day, thanks man!
Please enjoy.
