as i’m loading the gear into my truck i run back inside for one last thing, come back out and its hailing, uh oh. by the time i met up with shelley and her mom for her senior pictures, it’s no longer hailing but pouring rain! oh well, no biggie. we just sat in the car for a half hour and got to chat. no pictures, just talk. it was nice. i would like to do that more often and maybe i just will.

we waited out the storm and im glad we did because we got some awesome big skies and with a little help from mother nature a free wind machine! we made the best of the situation and shelley knocked it out of the park with this one. what a great person and if you know her you’ll know that she has such an addictive laugh, you can’t help but laugh right along. we had a good time that’s for sure. shelley, here’s your preview. many more comin’ your way! injoy

2010 seniors are way cooler i was | jordan

I got to get out of Fresno and head south to Tulare Union High to hang out with Jordan and grab a few senior pictures before he graduates and heads down south to pursue his basketball career. Seniors are so much fun to shoot. With so much ahead of them, they have the world at their fingertips to pursue dreams and aspirations. Be on the lookout for Jordan during March madness in the upcoming years ;) InJoy these for now!

Something about all the hard lines and shadows with this shot that i totally dig.

This was literally the last image of the day, i think it was a good one to end on. All Jordan needs here is a spear, shield, and helmet and i’m thinkin’ he’ll fit right in the movie 300!

bringin’ back memories | jason

I got to visit my Alma Mater, Sierra High School, for this senior portrait session! Walking through the campus brought back the good ‘ol memories that I’ve had there. Not much has changed since i graduated in 2003 except maybe a fresh coat of paint on the walls and a new class of graduates that included Jason. We had a blast shooting and thank you to his mom, Suzanne, for being my awesome assistant for the day… mom’s can be cool too :)

does size really matter? | flushmount albums

I got my first sample wedding album in last week and this thing is awesome! It showcases Nicole and Nate’s gorgeous storybook wedding in Clovis last year on a full 12”x24” flushmount bind. And to top it off, there’s a full bleed metal print (…yes, it’s actually printed ON a piece of metal!) mounted directly on the cover for a contemporary sleek and sexy finish!

I got my first ever senior album in today of the studly Noah… woohoo! I wish i was a better product photographer but believe me when i say that these things are sexy and i wish everybody would get one! Simple, sheek design with a modern look… they are a great way to wrap up an amazing shoot and show off for generations to come!

Alright… here’s Kasey as i promised. What an awesome person to be around. Full of fun, smiles, and giggles. I wanted to try and get a serious face portrait or her but needless to say i could barely get her to NOT smile! She did start giving a little attitude towards the camera at the end of the shoot for me though. You rocked Kasey and thanks again for the helping with your initially stubborn b/f in the previous post, haha ;)

Noah’s family was one of the first family portraits i ever shot a little over 2 years ago. It was a pleasant surprise when i heard from Gina (Noah’s mom) about shooting his senior pictures. Great people BTW! Anyways, the first thing he says to me before we start shooting goes something like this… “My mom had to force me to do these so lets just get a couple of shots and get it over with.” my response… “HAHA, yeah right, your mom would kill me!” By the end of the shoot, he was rockin’ the camera (…don’t lie Noah, you rocked it like it’s hot!) with a little enthusiastic help from his girlfriend Kasey. Thanks Kasey :) I actually shot her senior pictures too so it was like a double whammy of senior pics in one day! I’ll be posting her pics soon, so stay tuned. Until then and in case I don’t see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night!

I had the awesome pleasure of hanging out with Catie today for a couple of hours to try and get a few cool pics before she graduates from Clovis West in a few weeks. As we were driving we passed this pretty cool looking orchard so we stopped to take a few pics… well, actually it was 55 frames just to create this one image below! There’s a lot more from the day that I will share in a later post but I was stoked that I pulled this one off. I used a similar technique in this post awhile back when I first attempted to create an image like this. I hope you all enjoy and let me know what you think!

Madi and I have been planning this one for awhile now and it finally came around to getting an all access pass to the new Performing Arts Center of the Clovis North campus last Monday. She has been working as a behind the scenes crew member, student director, light board operator, and stage manager (I’m sure I left out a few other titles!) at the various theaters throughout Fresno and Clovis for a few years now and plans to take her ‘mad skillz’ to the Fresno State Theater Arts program. We spent way to long and took way too many pictures but it was really cool to have an entire theater to ourselves. Thank you Ben for allowing us to shoot there and to Andrew my lighting assistant for the day. It wouldn’t have happened without you guys, thanks!
