What does transporting 200 cubic feet of snow nearly 100 miles, a winch, 5′ ramp, snowboarder Shaun Milor, and a crazy idea get you? Some gnarly snowboarding pics in the middle of downtown Fresno, that’s what!
So we are about 15 minutes away from shooting in the original undisclosed location, snow already on the ground, and a Fresno Sheriff has come to inform us that we have been selected to appear on Dancing with the Stars. Well, not exactly… he actually came to shut down the operation and tell us to shoot somewhere else. After begging and pleading with the officer to get just a few shots in there’s no budging. We salvage as much snow as possible, pack everything up and move on and into downtown. Now everything’s set back a few hours but no problem, that’s why they make industrial grade generators and lights! We ended up getting a few awesome shots and finished up just before 1am. Not the location we were hoping for but I have a feeling there may be a part II to this story to try and get the original shot we were trying to get. All-in-all an interesting and good day being able to shoot something that I’m sure doesn’t happen very often!
